we have a 1995 38M beneteau-great boat! one of the survey items to be taken care of is the problem of the shower drain in aft head. I cannot locate the pump! the forward head has one and works fine, I throw the switch and I hear the pump work. not the same in the aft, I throw the switch and nana, nothing. I would like to find out where this pump is, anyone out there with answers?

I have a 390 and the pumps are next to each other inside main salon seating area, open up your floor boards and trace the hoses to your pumps.

I have a fairly new boat to me and am trying to sort out my showers. my aft shower has a pump that turns on with a switch at the nav station, the button in shower should be the one one that turns it on??? same with forward one.

I have checked but no such luck(too easy), as for your switch, on mine the nav sta switch turns on the power for the shower switch. if I don't activate the nav shower switch the actual shower switch wont work at all. that's the way mine works. I checked that my nav switch is feeding voltage too both my forward and aft switches, so, I am still looking for the hidden pump.

Due to the flattish bottom the pump might be a ways from the sump. Look for the thru-hull-drain above the waterline. The pump will probably between that point and the shower. At the very least it gives you a direction to look.

My shower problems
Both drains are plumbed right but buttons in shower rooms don't work, I have a shower switch in nav station that turns on one pump and drain the water out of boat. I am trying to get both showers to work the way they are supposed too. What should I look for??

The main wire for the bilge pump and the wires from the switches in the in the heads for the shower drain are interconnected at a junction box behind the settee where the actual pump is located and run as one wire to the pump. If a float switch was integrated into the circuit, chances are that it was wired in a way that bypassed the shower circuit. Consequently, the only way that the pump gets energized is from the bilge pump circuit since the float switch breaks the connection to the pump until it is bypassed by manually energizing the bilge pump. In my 323 the wire numbers are 14 for the bilge pump and 162 for the shower drain. They run separately from the WAGO block where they are jumpered to the circuit breaker, and are connected together in the previously mentioned junction box. There was no float switch in the bilge when the boat was delivered from the factory. Wire number 162 needs to bypass the float switch.

Remember also, that in order for the shower to drain, the manual three way valve in each of the showers has to be turned to the shower drain position in order to work, then back to bilge pump position.

IIRC, my fresh water breaker had to be on to energize the switch in the head? After all, you would not need the "shower" pump if you were not also pumping water? I'll recheck this today.

all good ideas and will trouble shoot, don't plan many showers but want everything to work. would also like to replace shower drain hose where it runs under and connects to drain but seems impossible to reach?

I have a first 38s5 which I think is pretty much the same. The pumps - bilge and both shower - are under the aft bunk, behind the engine compartment. To run it, circuit breaker needs to be on, and then throw a switch in the aft head, sort of under the sink.
