Good Morning All, just wondering if any other 40.5 owners could enlighten me as to the route used to plumb the shower in the aft head. Reason being I found that both the hot & cold pipes have split just below the metal fittings and I'll need to remove and replace them with PEX lines I believe. Why the split is a bit of a mystery as both flowed with anti-freeze prior to winter storage last fall. Age may have been a factor in the splitting.

I'm assuming the lines run under the sole but really don't want to go through the PITA of taking the sole up to find out that their not there at all.

Thanks in advance for any advice and knowledge on this issue.

Many production sailboats have wooden sole material placed over a fiberglass "floor" so taking off the teak & holly will not gain access to anything.

I recall replacing the faucet to which these lines are connected via the engine compartment. If you’re willing to gamble on the hidden line’s integrity, it should be relatively easy to just splice new hose where they are damaged from the same access point.

On my 1997 h40.5, under the aft head floor, there are two hole that I have used to run cables to the helm from the nav station. But there are no water lines. It could be different on your 1995 model - who knows?
