I have a 2010 Hunter 33. That we bought last November. We have sailed short trips and have not used the shower. I was curious how the walls, doors, and cabinets hold up to using the shower. I know you need to dry everything off when finished, but was curious if other people had issues with water damage or water entering seams in panels. Our boat has seams in walls and some seems caulked with silicon and others not( not sure if factory or prior owners). Also there are holes for hoses around toilet. I assume any water entering these goes to bilge??

If you have any wood molding like I have in my 07 H-36 and I use
some teak sealer on it every year to keep it from getting dried out.
I think Hunter stopped using teak in 08 and started using cherry so what ever Hunter recommends.

thanks, I figured all the nooks and holes around the toilet would have to go to bilge. I was just wondering if the back of the door and handle can be damaged form getting wet the appear to be just laminate on mdo, and was just curious if it was a problem area over time. Sounds like a a quick dry down after use and things hold up ok.

You should have a wrap around shower curtain to minimize the amount of water getting all over the place. Check some RV products in the market. In older Hunters a wash down fixture, which can be used to take showers, can be installed in the cockpit. This of course may best be used in warm weather and please wear a bathing suit. The other alternative would be to use a product like "Action Wipes" for a waterless cleansing. Our swim platform shower fixture is plumbed for hot water so we keep the head area and the cockpit dry while enjoying room to stretch and move around. Thankfully here in Florida we can shower outside all year long.
I am just now finishing a project on our H340. Water from taking showers lingered in the wood frame around the engine access hatch, and on the metal frame around the wet locker door. Both areas get sprayed during a shower, and when they didn't dry out, the inevitable happened on the bottom of the hatch and bottom of the door.
Removal and repair was relatively easy and GitRot has been applied to the bottom of each to re-glue the plies together seal the plywood edges. Both panels were constructed of plywood with some type of plastic laminate glued to the side facing the shower. I've trimmed them both down slightly to hopefully allow the water to drain/evaporate and may consider adding a post shower wipedown to remove excess water from the frames.
