SHOWER HELP for 1999 Hunter 340

When I pull up on the connector for the shower to the sink faucet in the head of our 1999 Hunter 340, the faucet flows water too. Really a water waster. I figured that the faucet might leak a very little bit, but this is really a flow of water. I tried lubercating with mineral oil to see if I could get the pull-up device to pull up further and maybe work right. Any Ideas how to fix or where to get a replacement faucet with the pull-up connector for the shower hose? try pulling the shower diverter before turning on the water,this helps,not much of a answer but best idea other then replacing.
