Practice Spinnaker

I just bought this Spinnaker and sleeve/sock last week from someone on Craigs List, $75...The picture is just a quick partial raising to see how it looks. Cant wait until next season. Small tear in it, but nothing that cant be fixed. My boat, a 1988 Hunter 30.

Here is my spinnaker...

Spinnaker for my Beneteau First 285 Liberty Cup Edition. We often fly the symmetrical spinnaker attached to the forestay like an asymmetrical when it is just my wife and I. With more crew or in lighter air, we use the pole.

Soul Sister's APS

Soul Sister was named after the song by Train, 'Hay Soul Sister'.

If you listen to the song you will see why I knew that was going to be the name of my boat.

The lips, once again from the song. Hence, the lipstick stain on my APS.

This photo was taken in the beautiful Cleveland Bay during the Magnetic Island Race Week 2013, Townsville, Queensland, Australia.

Well, here's mine. Came with the boat, and some PO had put the halyard up at the masthead. You can see she doesn't like to fly well up that high. Halyard has been moved back down 6" above the hounds like it's supposed to be, but I haven't flown it like that yet... I wouldn't have picked red, yellow, and white, but hey, came with the boat in like-new condition...

Picked this one up in the gear ads here. Came with halyard, snuffer, and sheets only used twice. Flying at the dock after getting the boat rigged. Can't wait to try it out on the water.

Here is a photo of our E-38 going under Robert Moses Bridge on a Thursday night race.
Quite frankly, picked this chute for price, found gently used on E-bay, it fits the boat and easier to fly/gybe than my symetrical chutes.

I really love seeing colorful and unusual spinnakers. Spinnakers seem to say alot about their owners. Some are merely pretty.

I've seen spinnaker pictures posted here that seem to tell a story, even if the story isn't obvious. I'd love for everyone to post pictures of their spinnakers and tell us why you chose it.

I like to think ours is pretty and says that my First Mate and I love our state of South Carolina. Plus it goes right along with the name of our boat, "Palmetto Moon."

Thanks!

single sailing in a 15 footer does not lean towards free time to take pictures. this is a picture of the asymmetrical (i made from a sailrite kit) that i checked out on it's trailer at the marina in keyport, n.j.. it now has a black rascal mask centered in the white section.
