On the plus side I talked my friend into buying a new Jeaneau 39DS after his divorce. I think he owes me a ride!

Ah Crap!
I slept in to 2pm. Once I got up I headed down to the boat and changed the Racor R24s. I had to change it last season because I had a bunch of crud get into it when I was in some strong seas and running the engine. I was nervous to pull it this time (I only had about 80 hours on it but I wanted to bring it back in-line with my normal maintenance schedule). When I pulled it the damn thing was in beautiful condition. I went ahead and changed it but it could have definitely stayed in there much longer.

I started the engine and it ran fine. I got the oil heated up and while I was working on that I was cleaning out my icebox and bilge. I noticed that the bilge pump was acting up. I had to take it apart to clean it out a bit and didn't put it back exactly right. I spent the next two hours trying to figure out what was wrong with it. I ended up cleaning out the hose that the bilge pump drains out of and doing a bunch of other things. Finally I figured out what was wrong and that I didn't have it put back together exactly right. Now I have a working bilge pump.

By this time it was 7pm.. I discovered that I needed to head back to Napa to get a new oil filter because the one I had on the boat wasn't the right one. Napa was closed when I got there.

Looks like I will be changing oil tomorrow afternoon. No sailing for me this week because I have a few other things to get done and I go back to night shift on Friday night at 6pm.

The only comforting thing I can say was that it was hot as hell here and there was no wind today! LOL

Family and the house interfere with sailing. I want to sell the house but the wife says NO!!!!! I admit that I love time spent with family but it is bittersweet as it interferes with sailing.
Simple solution. Kill two birds with one stone and take the family sailing.
