Shouldn't we be out sailing instead of reading this board? LOL

My excuse is that I am stuck at work working night shift. I am off the next two nights though so I plan to do another oil change on the diesel, a new Racor R24s, and then see if I can go for an overnight cruise.

What is your excuse?

Have to boat out for major repairs from my recent grounding. Combine that with the oil spill, which has much of the gulf either boomed off, or going to be boomed off, and it looks like a summer of little sailing around here.

Family and the house interfere with sailing. I want to sell the house but the wife says NO!!!!! I admit that I love time spent with family but it is bittersweet as it interferes with sailing.

after my emergent return to sin diego i have been sitting in a hurry and wait holding pattern--we shoulda gone to isla mujeres---then not have damage to boat....oh well----phillip --ye know ye have an invite to here to help me get this beastie ready for mazatlan trip and the sailing involved in that adventure----if we dont break the boat by mazatlan we try to break it before panama...if not by panama..then virgins..LOL.....WARM WATER!!!!!!!!

I have been on summer vacation since May 26th. I have only missed three days sailing the boat and/or swimming from it on the lake.

I am doing all I can! OK, I slacked off for three days.

On the boat

Currently sitting in St. Michaels, MD. Been on the boat for six days and don't need to be anywhere until June 24th. Life is good. Have plenty of RUM and wine and food until then.
Hope everyone is having fun.......

Every Day

I am really on the boat every other day some times every day and sailing almost every other day.
We were sailing early today and about 3 pm we started seeing the dark clouds movig all around us and starting sailing back towards our marina just to play safe.
We had nebie's on our boat today so we did not want to get them all shook up with the sound of thurder starting to be heard by us so we got lucky and made it back in time not a drop of rain until we got home and it sure was good for the dry lawns.
Kayaking tomorrow in the Peace River and friday and saturday sailing and sunday kayaking and BBQ with the club.
It's great to be retired and not working,planning a trip to Bahama's July 4 on a friends boat for two weeks and wife will fly over for a week with us.

Just shoot me now. I am way behind in launching due to rehab of two bathrooms. One was just baseboard replacement away from being done...until I turned on the shower after I sealed the grout and realized the contractor blew the pitch on the shower pan and it doesn't run to drain. So much for finishing the @#$% master bath this week. Looks like he will have to rip up the bottom of the wall tile I just put up, grouted and sealed as well as the floor and reset the prefab shower pan. For crying out loud....

We race on friend's boat Thursdays, Fridays, our boat Saturday (sometimes) and Sundays always....... 4 outa 7 not bad! Sometimes we sneak in a Monday or Wed. spin practice......just to make the week feel shorter! Sorry to rub it in Bob....but if it makes you feel better our house is crying for some attention so one of these days we will have to just stop for a while and catch up........well, maybe next year!!

Well, a few of you have me because I haven't posted from the boat in a week.

Jim....Wish I was out there with you. John is at Herring Creek and he has had some interesting things happen on this last trip (including blowing the fresh water pump on the Universal M-25XP). He had a spare (since mine blew a year ago and I changed mine out he thought far enough ahead to carry one) but it took him 2 hours to put it on. There was no wind and he was stuck in the shallows off of Windmill Point. To make matters worse he got nailed by a storm and got the anchor rode spun around the wing keel on his Catalina 34.

Hopefully I will be on my boat tomorrow after I wake up. I get off at 6am so I have a ways to go though :(

I still have 3 hours. I HATE night shift (6pm to 6am). I HATE night shift (did I mention that already?).

The biggest problem is that if I don't sleep late enough I will wake up all befuddled and I won't know which end is up. This means that I will miss the majority of the day for sleep.

BLAH!

Fortunately, because of slow work, I've been able to take the Summer off. At least untill August. I'm at the marina about every day, It's a once in 30 years break!!!!.
Where I worked, I couldn't take more than one day off.
