Crazy Dave Condon

For a long time, I have not answered any questions on the forum. This was due to an increased work load plus the fact that I did not have a good crew. The work load has increased but I do now have a good crew. Most of you know me as I am a dealer and proud of it. However, I have always never divulged who I am and where I am out of respect for the forum. I am not nor will claim to be an expert but one more opinion may benefit someone. I have been asked to come back and answer questions. AS usual, I would be selective. On the other flip of the coin, I was told I was unwelcome on the forum. The question for you sailors, do you want me back on the forum? Crazy Dave Condon

Expertise is always welcome

Hi Dave: The Forums always benefit from different points of view. I think that the dealer point of view is valuable because it shows how buying a boat is not like buying a car. You have a good product but nothing is perfect. Since you see so many different boats of the same make and model, you can share what you learn. My only reserve was that people didn't know you in this capacity. When Bohart was on site (whatever happened to him, probably something to do with a horse), we knew where he was coming from because he was the "Hunter Rep." But, of course, it's your decision how you represent yourself. Bottom Line: If you have time, get back on-line. Lots of new models out there, lots of new sailors, and lots of new questions (and a few old ones {rudder problems?, Nah...)). Mark Burrows

Of course, all inputs should be welcomed

I personally would like to hear a dealer's perspective on some issues, even though I bought my H26 directly from the previous owner. I would suggest that you opt for full and frequent disclosure of your status as a dealer, especially when it's pertinent to the topic. I'd even like to hear from Hunter Corporate representatives at times. Not sure why that's frowned upon. Again, full disclosure should be a given.

I Would Love to See More of Your Inputs

Your posts have been very helpful for me and my 23.5. In fact I would like to see maybe even a Dealer Forum where you and any other dealer who has the balls could answer questions from would be customers. Not sure how to keep it from becoming an advertisment, perhaps not identifying the dealership and giving the location by region would help.

Welcome! Welcome!

Dave, speaking on bahalf of the site janitors, we would LOVE to see you contribute again. Further, if I ever find out who said you were unwelcome here I'll keelhaul 'im and put his IP address in a place of infamy. You have always handled your forum participation with complete integrity and disclosure, and you are certainly welcome here any time!

I vote yes

Your knowledge and expertise was useful to many people. You are also a sailor as well as a dealer. As long as you don't advertise or try to sell through the forum (which you never did) I don't see a problem. Guest columnists are a regular feature here, why not a guest dealer column?

Very Valuable Resource

Dave, I have been checking this site regularly for several years. Your responses have always been sought when a question has arisen. I can not think of any reason that someone interested in furthering knowledge and enjoyment through a Hunter would not welcome your insight. As for being a dealer, this is the first time I knew that. You certainly have never sought publicity on that side. Please continue to contribute. I, for one, need all the help I can get. John Powell

Crazy Dave

Our 260 is doing great. This winter I added a depth sounder, which makes saiing so much more fun. And yes, I'd appreciate your input to all of our problems. And take a vacation, Damn it!

Naturally you'll be most welcome back Dave

It's a real gift to me here in Sweden to use this site and a very special gift to have an expert and a dealer as you Dave "on line". My dealer lives some 500km away and has a very limited experience of the smaller Hunters. I think he might have sold 2 or 3 H26/260's. So just join in again Dave ! And should it be that we have different experiences or opinions on a single issue - great - just let's sort it out and one of us (probably me) will have learnt something new again. Toomas

Crazy Dave

I have been reading this forum for a while and never came across you Dave, but I would very much appreciate any advice you can bring to the table. I always have some doubt as I am about to begin a boat project. It is also clear that what is good advise for one boat, is not for a different boat. I think your perspective will be valuable, so please come back. PS - I am a city coucil alderman, and as a reslut I always get a few irate drunken calls occasionally. Some people just don't know when to keep thier mouth shut.

Dealer? Who cares

Crazy....I couldn't care less that you're a dealer. I am smart enough to figure out when I am being sold and when not. Ignore the naysayers, for they know not what they do or say. Post away. Mike
