Shortening headstay for CDI Rollerfurler

The H-26 I purchased has a CDI rollerfurler already installed. Someone messed up as the headstay was not shortened. They simply raked the mast back about 10 degrees to bring the furler above the level of the foredeck. I have tried unsuccessfully to contact CDI and ask them about how much to shorten the headstay. Can anyone tell me how much to take off of the headstay to accommodate a CDI rollerfurler?Thanks!Don Barber

Had the same problem

I bought my H26 used and it had the same problem. The H26 rigging specs says the forestay is 30'-7 5/8" long. The threaded fitting was cut off so the forestay wire would feed thru the plastic luff and a new fitting was swedged on making the forestay approx. 1" shorter but with the addition of the straps to get the drum or spool above deck, it is 3" too long. The forestay should have been shortened 4 3/8" to account for the straps, this will get the forestay back to 30'-7 5/8" long. Remember, if the wire goes into the fitting 1" then only cut off 3 3/8".
