Great Video!
Very nice video and I enjoyed watching it. A video, unlike a picture, tells a story and the sunset at the end was a stroke of genius.
I really enjoy taking videos on our boat, too, and it is really, really hard to deal with the boat’s motion. The boat is constantly making motions that is nearly impossible to compensate for. Each wave causes the boat to move in some way and for the videographer to compensate is hard.
Some of the newer cams have built in image stabilization of one form or another. The one I have is a Sony with Optical SteadyShot, O.SS) but it doesn’t work well enough. The cam I’m looking at now has their Balanced Optical SteadyShot (B.O.SS) system and hopefully this will help to smooth out the jerks. Then, of course, there is stabilization availability in the video editing application, FCPX, and this has worked well for smoothing motion.
Spent much of today looking for a rain jacket/ rain cover, whatever, for my cam but another consideration is a sport cam like yours which may be more impervious to salt air and salt water.
Our season is quickly coming to an end so the days where I can get a boating video are numbered. Hopefully your new cam will wet your interest in video and a word of warning, it can be very additive.
