Hey Everyone,
Good afternoon! I wanted to share with everyone a short series I've started writing called The Transatlantic Series. I started writing them about a month ago for an English project, and actually fell in love with the idea of continuing this series of short stories! It's been difficult to tie factual things together with completely outlandish and comedic events. Hence, I've decided its genre as historical fiction, and just decided to go to town and have fun with it!
The storyline begins with a shockwave sent out in Summer of 2016 by the Koreans and Russians; this shockwave shuts down every running engine and renders them useless without being completely rebuilt from scratch. Soon after this threatening event occurs, every country decided to become independent, and a naval war breaks out between the United States, Mexico, South America, Canada, England, Germany, France, Italy, Russia, China, Japan, Korea, Switzerland, New Zealand, Holland, Greece, Africa and many other countries affected by the shockwave. Since engines are useless and practically non-existent, however, every country's navy has no choice but to turn to sailing ships; thus, the Age of Sail returns to warfare. The United States Navy is in desperate need of young ranking mariners with the ability to sail, and they immediately turn to the Sea Scouts. The series begins by specifying characters and listing their statistics and telling the story of their first experiences with the Navy. Eventually, there are enough Sea Scout captains to form a fleet of classic warships, and the fleet is named SSFC (Sea Scout Fleet Command). It may sound cheesy, but I just thought it would be fun to toy with. See the link below and tell me what you think! (NOTE: I haven't yet to revise the documents, so if you see any grammatical errors, please let me know!)
Here are just a few I've written so far:
