short shaft and kicker??

I have a mac 26d with a kicker i need a new outboard. Will a short shaft be long enough with the kicker or should I get another long shaft?

You're going to need a long shaft. Even with a long shaft if you heel your prop will coe out of the water and rev like crazy. I was in some 8 ft waves this weekend and couldn't keep my long shaft in the water.

I would buy a "extra long shaft" (25")", to reduce the times thr prop comes out of the water. Even my 20" outboard comes out of the water in some situations. The longer the better.
