Just back from a two week plus cruise over to the Tampa area from New Orleans on a friends H36. Went from NO straight to Clearwater, then down to Sarasota, up to Tampa, then to Pensacola, then home. Had overall the best weather I have ever had this time of year in the gulf. Other than the day we left which was a little sloppy the weather offshore was just about perfect. Although at times nearly dead calm and we relied on Yanmar power. Only two thunderstorms in over two weeks. One while we were anchored up in the Manatee river near Tampa. The other between Pensacola and NO. That one was mostly rain, and of course at 4 in the morning. Fortunately I didn't have the watch for that one, so I didn't even get wet. Overall a super nice trip.
