Apparently, I took a electrical surge and my shorepower plug has welded to the cord prongs. It WILL NOT come apart so I had to cut the cord. Question......do I have to buy a complete shorepower plug assembly, or can I replace just the internal fittings for the shorepower plug? The stainless part is OK. Check the westmarine link below to see if you can determine. Take a look at those prices.....Sheesh!

Change the internal fitting

I just replaced the internal fitting on my shore power connector. Unless your connection is so melted that you can't get removing the fitting then it should be an easy job. But... If I were you I would trace out all my wiring to make sure something else isn't melted.

Home Depot

Home Depot has all the parts you'll need. Check carefully for other damage as you may very well have an insurance claim.

Home Depot???

Are you sure Home Depot will have the internal fitting for a Marinco shorepower plug? Defender does have it, but I'd sure rather get it at HD. The female end of the cord can probably be found at HD. The only damage I've noticed is my battery meter was cooked, and a fuse blown for the CD player. I'll keep checking. Thanks much......Gary
