Hey everyone, while planning the refitting of my boat, I noticed there isn’t a shorepower plug on Cool Whip, where is a goo place to install one? Port or starboard? Still waiting on a slip so not sure yet on which side I’ll be dock

Take a cue from boat manufacturers of similar designs. Do consider the location of the batteries, it saves $$ in copper.

Where do you plan to put the AC breaker panel? The AC inlet should be within 10 wire feet of the inlet with a Galvanic Isolator and an ECLI on the panel. The charger will get its power from the AC panel, so it makes sense to have the panel as close as reasonably possible to the AC Panel.

my batteries are centred under the cockpit, so any side will do, was just wondering if there was a preferred side (abyc)
yes the charger will take power from the breaker and the outlets (3) will use the other breaker.

so I guess the inlet and breaker panel will be port side as I have a bit more room there.

Follow preceding advice. It's more important where your wiring is than where you dock. Mine has to come around the stern to plug into the boat. It's not about battery location either. This is the A.C. circuit, not DC.

yeah I know, I was referring to the batteries for the charger's length of wire

I have 2 on my boat...one up from under the anchor locker cover and one in the lazzarette.

nice to have one up front when I dock bow first.

I was thinking you could wire one on each side, if you don't know which side you're pulling shore power off of. You would need to either lock the unused outlet once plugged in, or better, put them on an A/B switch so you don't risk unwanted access to a hot male outlet.
