Hi There, I am looking for a 3 blade bronze prop for a Hunter 34. I believe that I will need a 15 *11 with 1 inch bore for the shaft. Have anybody changed the 2 for 3 blades and are my specs correct? I also believe that I need a right hand? Can anybody confirm the specs that I should be looking for as well as let me know if anybody has one available for sale. Thanks in advance, Marcio

Save your money or

spend a bunch to make your boat go slower. If it ain't broke don't fix it

I have a three blade michigan sailor ..

You specs are right on the money 15" * 11" right hand turn.. The prop will smooth out all the vibration...made a BIG difference in my hunter 34.. You should also make 3400 rpms @WOT. I paided 350.00 for mine. As far as Daryl's comments he should really sell his hatefull boat and get a boat he likes..

Prop Clarification

My h34 with the Westerbeke 21 goes hull speed with the fixed two blade factory prop. When Hunter switched to Yanmar they continued to use the same prop which was not pitched properly for the Yanmar motor. The excesssive drag from the three blade may take up to a half knot off your sailing speed. I believe a properly pitched balanced two blade prop is best suited for this vessel. Hey Carl, I sold that boat

campbell sailor prop

i installed one of these and have had great experiences with it. if you check out their web page (www.westbynorth.com) they will give you more than enough info to sell you...i am very happy. mine is on a hunter 37cutter with a westerbeke 31 hp and i get hull speed at about 2000 rpm in flat calm conditions

Less pitch

I just made an inquiry to Campbell Sailer for their recommendation for a 3-blade prop for my 2000 H340. I have the 27 hp Yanmar 3GM30F. They recommended a CS3RH15x9x1 (Campbell Sailer, three blade, Right Hand rotation, 15" diameter, 9" pitch for a 1" shaft). According to their web site, "The Campbell Sailer is more efficient than the standard propellers that are available and it loads an engine up more, usually by about two inches of pitch and/or diameter" - thus the lower pitch recommendation. I had a good experience with their prop on my previous boat and will likely add the new prop this spring.

I recently removed the 3-blade

I replaced it with a 2-blade folding prop. The folding prop is 16"x11-1". The 3-blade is 15", but I'm not sure of the pitch. If you can wait till May, I should know if the 2-blade folder works well enough to get rid of the 3-blade fixed. If it does, I'd probably sell the 3-blade for "cheap". ~ Happy sails to you ~ _/) ~
