shoal draft 1983 30ft

I am considering - buying a 83 shoal draft oday 30ft.

has anyone had any problems with the center boards on these boats .

the draft is 3.5 up - i believe it's over 7 ft down. just wondering if this is a design that has any problems .

If you don't get any replies from this site, the best guy to call and ask is Rudy Nickerson of D & R Marine in Assonet Ma. http://www.drmarine.com/ Rudy worked for the O'Day company in Fall River Ma. and he bought out all the parts and the boat molds when they went out of business. He's very knowledgeable about these boats and a good guy to talk to. I live about eight miles from him and I know him pretty well. If there are any issues with these boats, he'll tell you. As for myself, I love a keel centerboard boat. I've sailed the OD 25 K/C, and I've sailed OD 272 wing keel. I prefer the K/C.
