Does he still make boats?
are the Mainship trawlers still manufactured?
I think I change my Hunter 33 for a Mainship 400 is it a good thing or should I go to another manufacturer?
Thank you for you reply

While not the only possible way to test for proof of life, the Marlow-Hunter Facebook page has been updated exactly once in the last two years; last October to change the phone number and hours of operation.

I have spoken with them on the telephone as recent as mid January. They are very helpful on technical questions. Maybe they are just not Facebook "kind of guys".

They seem to have been redesigned and rebranded as Marlow Pilot.

Interesting, I have sent them a few technical questions through their web site and I did not get a reply. Maybe I should try calling the number on the website.

Marlow-Hunter became effective 8/3/12 per Florida State Corporation Commission records with last report filed 2/21/2018. The year before the report was filed 3/20/17. New report has yet to be filed but due soon. It is still an active corporation per Fl SCC.

Marlow Hunter website appears to be active. There is an off shoot what appears to be Marlow Pilot which is strictly power which is good as Marlow Hunter is dedicated to sailboats. The website for Marlow Pilot for address, address location, toll free number and other pertinent contact information is that of the old Hunter Marine and now Marlow Hunter.

From what I saw, David Marlow is wise to separate the sail from power and vice versa. I suspect that he purchased Hunter Marine with future plans to build power boats which he is known for that particularly in China. Further I suspect he wanted to bring the production of power boats back to the United States and if that is the case, I would salute him. Further, the vogue of sailing is not what it use to be particularly in the small boats as the numerous small boats by Hunter are no longer built except for the current 15, 18, 22 listed on the website and others closing to include MacGregor and Precision. This past Annapolis show was devoid of the numerous small sailboats seen in yesteryear.

Mr. Marlow, if you can confirm this, We would appreciate it. If I am correct, I would like to shake your hands for continuing construction of boats in the marine industry but notably American Jobs.

Currently Boatless Okinawa
Before we left our club, the gentleman across the dock who owned a Nonsuch decided to order a brand-new Marlow trawler. The boat took about four months to build. He was very happy with it when it was delivered. So they were still in business last year, at lest for power boats.
