Shifter/Throttle Unit Wanted

My 1981 C30 with an Atomic 4 and a tiller needs a new shifter/throttle unit. I am looking for the type that has two handles and can be located on the bulkhead of port lazerett. I don’t think that it has to be from a boat with an A4.If you have recently switched to pedestal steering and have the old control unit lying around, please contact me by e-mail. Steve; Just saw a brand new unit still in box at used gear store. Had a $250 asking price. They are close to $500 from Morse, special order. Try Pacific Marine Exchange, 700 W. Holly St., Bellingham, Wa. 98225. 1-360-738-8535. It was on top shelf on first floor. Good luck. Bill H.

I'm Not Alone!

Several weeks ago I was pulling into my slip and went to reduce power - the throttle handle broke off!In an effort to replace the darned thing, I have made 8 phone calls. Catalina gave me Teleflex's number - they bought Morse Controls last February. The MJB control is the replacement, but retails at West Marine for $430!! Since I just broke the shaft, I'm going to have a former client of mine who has a machine shop put a new shaft on. I've already spent a lot of money re-wiring the boat this season.
