Just purchased a 99 Hunter 420. The top and side loaded refrigeration unit is very large and has room for shelving, which would make it much more functional. Has anyone out there found a prefab product that works? Ideas welcome! Thanks

Shelving should be there
Both my 280 and 380 had the shelving in it direct from Hunter. Black smoke colored plexiglas shelves. They work great. Maybe your got lost in the commissioning shuffle??? Try Eddie Breedan at Hunter customer service, but I bet your yard has them on a shelf in some storage room and doesn't know what they are for. Good Luck Bob Knott

Fur our V32, we disgarded the singe factory shelf and used a white wire shelf of the approximate size of 12x36 (guestimate)which has 4 shelves and is affixed using s/s rubber-gasketed wire ties screwed to the inner liner. Works great. Replaced after 8 years when it started to rust. You could chrome it for not much money. Got it at one of the big box hardware stores. Good Luck; RD

Rick: If you go to a plastic store (we have TAP PLASTICS in the west) you can get plexiglas in clear, smoked and some other colors and make one your self. Most of these places will even cut it for you. We then got a piece of teak edge molding and screwed to the edge so things would not slide off. Very easy do it yourself project. Make a cardboard template first so they have something to go by.

We have a H450 but the frig size is the same. We have one shelf under the cold plate made of smoked plexiglass. This was from the factory. Yours should be the same. If not, call the factory customer service. The deep area right in front of the door is still a problem because the shelf cannot extend the full width or the bottom would be blocked from the top. The only solution to that is to buy a big trawler with a regular home frig. We have learned to live with the single shelf and using the top of the cold plate. You might add the plastic matting on top of the cold plate to prevent freezing of food on the top.
