I have hank on jibs (3), and one jib sheet. It is ~60' X 1/2" tied to a snap shackle at 30'. My main sheet is 1/2". I have never removed it from the blocks and measured it.

Rich,

This forum has copied as best it can an old posting to the O'Day forum. It could be retyped and reposted, but look at:

http://oday.sailboatowners.com/inde...id=257&cat_id=127&aid=7702&page=article&mn=25

Captain Herring has tried to clean it up, and what we have is what we have. It would be nice to find a good copy and scan it and repost, but, it is what it is.

Hi rich,
i went to odayowners.com store. You can select your boat and they have already got it figured out. I used 5/16 samson XLS with splices and whips or shackles as needed. I haven't yet had the opportunity to raise the mast, so i haven't verified the accuracy of their measurments. I did measure my halyards before i orderd and they were close, a little longer online than on my boat, but i figured that would be ok.

The 1979 O'DAY specs (I think this is what is being refered to by Ed K), give the following lengths/sizes;

Jib Sheet 3/8" dia. x 48' That is for the working jib (approx 100%) and would be tied through the clew of the jib resulting in approx. 24' per side.
Main Sheet 3/8" dia. x 40'
Genoa Sheets 3/8" dia. x 60' (again tied through clew and thus 30' per side.

All lines above would typically be of Double-Braided Dacron/Polyester.

I took the time to reprint the rigging specs for the O'DAY 25 (both K and K/CB) for the manual that I'm working on. The data for the upper shrouds is for boats NOT equipped with the optional "Mast-Raising" setup (I assume?).
