Sheet Lengths

I want to replace the Main, Jib, and Genoa sheets on my Vega. I would like
to get your opinion on what size and diameter I should use. Thanks

For running rigging I use 3/8" Sta-Set polyester braid. I like to cut everything a little long (Because there is no fixing it if you cut them too short). Basically, for halyards, long enough to reach from the pulpit to the stern rail via the masthead so I can tie them off that way when moored. I cut the sheets nearly the length of the boat, about 25 ft.

Works for me.

to winch, plus a bit.)

The point is that you could really want to dump pressure on the jib,
to keep from, say, crashing into a dock. I prefer docking under jib
alone, if I must dock under sail, as you cannot luff the main
downwind, and luffing the jib is the closest thing you'll have to
brakes.
