I don't recommend sta set x for genoa sheets
If you're a cruiser I would recommend 45 ft, solid color, 3/8" samson xls or samson trophy braid. The XLS is a smooth cover double braid that has a good feel and is long lasting. The tropny braid has a spun polyester cover that gives it a soft, matte, nonslip finish. This results in outstaning handling characteristics and holding power on the winches.I like solid color sheets because they don't show dirt and are easy for everyone to identify ("Quick, pull the red rope!"} Besides, solid colors just look COOL.New Englad sta-set is your basic double braid, you have to pay extra for solid colors, though. Sta-Set X is stiff, doesn't come in solid colors and picks up dirt easily... I built a halyard with it so I could downsize and it was a Bitch to splice. It doesn't coil very well either.. I hate the stuff. There's just too many better choices that are more economical to boot. I can also recommend Yale yachtbraid or Marlow marlowbraid. New England Regatta braid is a fuzzy single braid line that you might really like also. It has a very soft hand, good gripping characteristics and is economical. If you want to save some money, order your sheets from Annapolis Performance Sailing http://apsltd.com Even though they are racing oriented they gladly help us cruisers with expert advice and recommedations.
