Greetings all:

Project update on the H37C Miss Bobbi :

After 10 months on the hard, we splashed her in last October as fit-for- delivery condition. Motored her home for 20 miles without a hitch. Even sailed a bit with a rag of an undersized jib found aboard after purchase. (She was sold as 'no sails included'.):)

Progress has been minimal since then, but schedule looks promising to get back to working on the the project.

She has a port side stantion that is broke and will need replacement. Other than getting a replacement fabricated locally, anyone have one available for sale?
Also looking for toe rail. There are two areas that should be replaced: one is about 6' and the other is about 4'. Any ideas on leads to find this?

I'll start another thread regarding sails so as not to overload this one.
I'll also post some pics once I outsmart Google Picaso image processing!

Thanks,

Brad

Brad, my 37 c came with what I think is a second set of sails. Haven't had them out of the bag as what is on the boat is excellent.

You don't say how the stanchion is broken. Are you sure it cannot be welded? I have repaired them at the local welding shop. A new one might be purchased at TIQ(http://www.topsinquality.com/stanchions.htm ).

Not sure about the toerail. Lots of Cherubinis in the salvage yards where you could probably get some pieces. Jorge( http://forums.hunter.sailboatowners.com/showthread.php?p=655077&highlight=salvage ) wrote about a yard he frequents in the Houston area. Not sure if any of these are a match( http://www.rigrite.com/Hardware/Toerail/Toerail.htm ).

Yes, there are a couple of Hunters in the yard I go to: a H33, 1982 (identical to mine) with 2 excellent tor rails, I am buying both for $200.00
Then there is a H31, and a Hunter 36
All of them have toe rails, send me a picture and I will check for you

I would second Ed's recommendation to look to local welding shops for stanchion repairs (depending, of course, on the exact nature of the damage)... I have had them done well, and inexpensively, at a local welder.

Crest aluminum now makes toe rails for all the Cheuribini hunters. Just google them.
