Sea Life
We have sailed, raced and fished the Pacific Coast from Big Sur to Pt Reyes in our Wilderness 30 and Catalina 38 over the past 10 years. We have encounterd Humpback, Grey whales and Orca (we are still hoping to see a Blue Whale out near the Farallones). we have seen whales breaching and fluke slapping and even had a Humpback drift with us for over an hour while we mooched for salmon. We have seen various sharks and rays. Dolphins have often cruised with us and played about the boat. We have seen Mola Mola sunning themselves and various turtles drifting on the surface. The seals, sea lions, otters and a plethora of birds are always present. The annual appearance of the Sooty Shearwaters is always an incredible sight. Every venture offshore is a different adventure in nature. Sailing on San Francisco Bay is a totally different adventure .. with the commercial traffic varying from ferries, tugs and barges to HUGE container ships and oil tankers... Not wildlife but can make your sailing life pretty wild! Fair winds.......

This Weekend
We love to troll whenever we sail. This weekend, returning from Catalina Island in southern California, we caught and released this shark. Can't tell if it is a Mako or a Blue shark. Can anyone identify it? Serenity Now...out
