Just a dumb question:How come those guys that set the crab pots and fish nets don't get caught. They must have something below the waterline to prevent them from fouling.May be they have chainsaws below the waterline and nothing can get foul up with them.You can't beat them join them. I heard there are gadgets you can add to the prop shaft that can cut lines. In my book, if they set illegal traps and my boat happen to cut them loose, well too bad.

Ah, the "83A" nets! I actally like going over there to check out the birds sitting on the poles. There's room between them to sail through keeping an eye on the marker...but I always did wonder why they chose right there to place them???These days I also always use the float free channel getting in and out of Herring Bay...it amazes me the number of boats that just go plowing through the crab pots though! Guess that explains some of the ones you see floating in the strangest place by themselves...like say in the channel in HHS!
