Hi all,
I finally got home after three weeks at work, and had time to dive into my new vega. spent 2 days cleaning and scrubbing, and making sense of the piles of stuff laying around from the previous owner.
I had to run a new jib halyard, due to my rigging it wrong on the furler, then forcing it around with the winch. So any how, I discovered that the block I'm using at the masthead is actually for the spinnaker, the two sheaves on top of the mast aren't being used at all. I figure that next month when I haul it out, I'll take a good hard look at all the fittings, and standing rigging. i know I need to replace the fore stay, I noticed 4 or 5 frayed strands up at the top - probably done when I made that stupid mistake I mentioned earlier.

Somebody installed an edson steering wheel, which in my opinion was a bad move. It just takes up too much space in that cockpit. I might be tackling that project tomorrow or the next day.

We took a little sail today - winds 10 to 15 or so, and I was very impressed with the way she sailed. I think she'll do even better once I dial in the rig a little more - but it's a lot better than my old Coronado 25 was, that's for sure. Man I love this boat!
