This winter, for the first time, I am leaving my boat in the water. I didn't have time to replace/check the zincs on the shaft before the water got cold. In the interim, while waiting for warmer water, I attached a device to the shaft. This is a zinc "fish" which is hung in the water over the side of the boat. The "fish's tail" is a conductor with a clip on the distant end, which I have clipped to my shaft inside the boat. I did a continuity test from the fish to the shaft and found it positive (i.e. good connection.)My question is....is this sufficient protection for my shaft until I dive and replace the zincs this spring?
