Shaft Tube:

Hello All, Have any of you replace the tube where the prop shaft inserts? Do I cut free the tube which is embedded in epoxy inside the engine compartment and pull it out through the back? Please advise. Pictures would really help. I pulled my rudder today and it was pretty straight forward...did have to raise the boat a foot more in the air, but everything worked out. I did loose three more hairs in the deal. Thanks,Larry Sent from Windows Mail

why do you have to cut the tube? If you are going to replace the shaft, the old tube works just fine..

Well I don’t want to cut the tube, but it is 40 years old too. I want to pull the brass coupler , I can’t seem to get it to move. Any ideas? I am afraid of putting to much pressure on the coupler and blowing out the end of the prop shaft. Larry Sent from Windows Mail From: rainer.elvila@...Sent: ‎Sunday‎, ‎September‎ ‎22‎, ‎2013 ‎11‎:‎31‎ ‎AMTo: AlbinVega@yahoogroups.com
