Anyone out there fitted a dripless shaft seal to an 86 H31 ? If so, what eaxctly was used, how easy / difficult was it to fit and did it actially stop shaft drips ? I'm considering putting one on this spring haulout but don't want to have to remove the rudder to do it if possible.

Bone Dry

I did not install mine the boat came with it. I want to tell you it is dry as a bone in the sun.

I put one on a 27' H.......

The hardest part was separate the prop shaft from coupler. Long bolts on the coupler and a deep-well socket as a spacer forced the prop shaft out. Cut a forked piece of wood and have one person hold tension while you tighten the seal.
Follow the directions. It's about a two hour job.
No drips.
