shaft removal while afloat

I was going to try to remove my shaft on my 30 Catalina while it was in the water. My question is can I pull the shaft and clear the strut as well as the rudder with out taking off my 3 blade prop. Thanks in advance for the help! Jim

don't even think of it...

Go to a yard and do this on dry land. To risk of sinking of your boat to save a few hundred dollars is silly.

You will sink your boat

There is no way you are going to be able to pull your shaft without seriously risking a sinking. Haul your boat and take your time doing what is almost always a difficult job.
