Hello all, I am curious if anyone has experience with http://www.shaftlok.com/
looking for a shaft break system, that can be retro fitted as my transmission does not lock my 2 bladed prop, in the aperture. Any other systems out there that people have experience with?

I have no experience with the product. Looks good but expensive for what it is.
I have heard of people using a vise grip for the same purpose (kind of Rube Goldberg approach).
Personally, I decided to bite the bullet and get a folding prop when I got tired of the shaft rotation noise, also gained a good half knot in sailing speed.

tabor's alden has no room for a folding or feathering blade. full keel , my brake was custom built around the coupling flange. i wish i could share a photo.
the speed increase is most at slower speeds in lighter winds. a timber was glassed in below the flange. a stainless band with brake pad material was bent to a 1/2 moon shape. one end attached to the timber. the othe end set up like a side pull 10 speed bike brake, but with much heavier cable. the cable runs to a simple lever inside the cockpit locker with a little lever to hold the brake handle at max hold.
at good 10% increase of speed across spectrum.
