Laying in my V Berth with 30 knot winds and the boat sailing around on the anchor pretty good, I was wondering how much wind is too much.
5 to 1 scope, all chain, 22 lb Bruce in mud bottom. Hunter 28. I watched the stars through the hatch until I fell asleep.
Also, to tie off the stern to the shore in crowded anchorages do you carry 300 feet of nylon 3 strand 3/8 rope on a spool?
Also, What is the lifespan of halyards and sheets and topping lines and rhode? How do I know when to replace them?
Also, How often do I replace the zincs? I put two fresh ones on the prop shaft last June when I repainted the bottom, are they good for two years? I am wondering whether to spend another $350 to haul her out again this year.
Also, I have been trying to master heave to (hove to) but the boat seems to get blown around 180 degrees. I back fill the jib, keep the main centered and lock the wheel over and she stalls but begins falling off after a bit.
Thanks!
