Servicing swing keel on 22 ft catalina

I have a 1980 22 Catalina whose swing keel needs to be rebush. There is excess play at the pivot point.I have already taken the keel off the boat and the hole in the keel is no longer round and approx. 1/8" over the 1" brass pivot pin.Are there any secrets I should know before I proceed with drilling 1.5" hole and install a bronze bushing? This boat will be sailed in fresh water for as long as I own it.Would appreciate feedbackAndre

That will work just fine except

why go that large with the new hole in the keel?I think the original pin is silicone bronze. I made an oversize stainless pin, drilled the keel & drove the pin into the keel, interferance fit. The pin is still tight in the keel after 14 years. I also drilled the keel hanger bearings for zerk fittings. There is no apparent wear.I also sail in fresh water only.Regards from Canada,Bob B. 1980 C22.
