Servicing NOVA KOOL refrigerator

I have read so many places about the need for adequate ventilation for Nova Kool refrigerators. There seems to be an awful smell coming from around ours on our 36' sailboat (2009). Nevermind that there is absolutely no open vents except in a small cutout in the cabinet under the sink and another in the storage under an adjacent settee....in others words none. We have been told there are a few screws to take out and it will slide out so we can clean behind and under it. Anyone know where they are?! Besides the smell, the freezer section is beginning to frost over immediately and freeze anything near it.
Another issue is that the trim holding up the 'mirror' front on the door panel has cracked on a bottom corner so we have to keep taping it up to hold the mirror in place. If possible I am ready to completely remove that mirror and put in something more practical...or nothing at all.
Any advice out there? especially in finding the screws?

I access the fridge from the aft settee. That approach allows you to clean the cooling fins routinely. You might want to check the door seals using the dollar bill method if you have ice accumulation.

Shoot nova kool tech support an email support@novakool.com about your freezer problem. They were quick to answer a question about the availability and pricing for new grills to replace the existing ones in our '08 H36. They are beginning to show rust.

On the black trim side edges look for pop out plastic plugs and screws that
hold the ref in place are in those holes.
Try some kind of glue and I have not had any problems like you have had
and works just fine.

I called Nova Kool about replacing the front door on my refrigerator because the trim was loose and the door wasn't closing tight. They sent a new door right away and the cost was reasonable. Real good customer service.
