Surveys
The prices of used recreational boats are rarely set by surveyors. I realize that many surveys contain numbers which purport to represent "replacement values", etc., the actual prices are set by what a buyer is willing to pay. Period. I've seen some bizarre boat values contained in surveys and I assume they resulted from the owner trying to boost the actual value for insurance or other purposes. No one would pay those prices for the boat. If you are selling your boat and really don't know its value, check the ads in a newspaper or sailing publication for comparables. Go online and see what your boat is listing for on the web. Good, clean boats that are realistically priced sell fast. Good luck.
