Actually I have several questions. ID Plate Where should the serial plate/model number plate be on a 1982 Hunter 22? I am probably going right past it and not looking at it. Mast Light. I have been rebuilding my lighting system with LEDs. The Mast light on my boat is a two white light arrangement with an upper and lower light, that point up and down, but neither of them show any light toward the bow of the boat and from directly behind you will not be able to see the mast light. Reading the USCG regs I would think this white light should be on the top of the mast and visible in a 360 degree view, but this looks to be a factory installed light system. I will say the wiring, as installed, lit both the upper and lower lamps when the mast light switch was activated. The LED arrangement I replaced the old bulbs with is super bright and has to exceed the regs for distance of viewing. Is this an out of date light system? If I anchor at night on an inland lake will this light arrangement satify any local patrol? Or do I need to go back and get a 360 degree lamp unit and install it on top of the mast? I would hate to fix this up and find out it is illegal as far as the USCG is concerned. Replacement cushions The cushions are not usable. Who makes cushions for boats? Any idea of cost? Who has replaced all of their cushions using a local business. There are some things I will not attempt. Surge braks Can any brake shop repair the surge brakes on my trailer or should I look at electric brakes. As anyone changed from surge to electric and what kind of expenses did that change over consist of? Wood Ok I admit it, I do not understand the facination with teak! What is presently on my boat looks terrible. Maybe if I sand and oil (?) what is on my boat I would be happeir with it. I know this is blasphemy, but what about some of the other woods. At $25 a running foot for teak my eyes crossed when I was told, what the board I was holding was worth. The deck plywood on each side of the centerboard needs replacement as does the unit that sits directly on the centerboard well, what type should I use? I am thinking of salvaging the tables and such for the teak and replacing tables and such with white oak. Stupid questions Enough for now. I will think of more as I clean up and refurbish this impulse buy. I do not regret it YET!

ID plate

The ID number is usually on the stern end of the starboard side of the boat right under the rub rail. It is embedded in the fiberglass, so you have to look close. Good luck with your project!

Clean your teak, don't replace it.

The fasination with teak is that it has natural oils that protect it. Teak that looks like the side of an old barn can be brought back to look great. All you need to do is buy a two part teak cleaner, follow the directions, than give it three coats of Cetol. You to will be a teak lover.
