Our new, to us, boat is a 1988 Seaward 23 with a hank on Jib that is Self Tending. We haven't launched this boat yet, maybe this weekend. First question, is a Self Tending Jib, the same as Self Tacking Jib? We have had this same model boat before, but with a 150% Genoa and furler, so we didn't experience this option on that boat. I can't seem to figure out how to route the Jib sheets. There is no Jib Boom or Track used on this design. However, the Jib does have a 2.5 Inch wide Batten located near the Foot of the Jib. I've got to the age that a Self Tacking Jib really appeals to me. I am sure this boat's Self Tending/Tacking Jib isn't in the same ballparks as compared to today's more modern systems, but I own this one. Please help with suggestions as I hope to launch in a few days. Any pics of the Seaward's installation would be great.
