self steering wind vanes for catalina 30s

Does anyone have any recomendations for what type of self steering wind vanes that they would recomend ?------------ moniter? Aieres? Also are there any places that would be able to install same in southern calif? I am planning on cruising south and would like to be as independent from electrical stuff as possible. Cape Horn

Hi wyn -I don't have a lot of experience with wind vanes, but I have sailed with a Cape Horn and really liked it. It was the least intrusive of the ones I've seen and worked really well. I hear customer service isn't the best, but take a look at the Related link. Let us know what you choose and how the installation looks.Best,Trevor
