Well, I just got the boat last Fall... I "noticed" the bucket right off when going thru the gear but didn't give it much thought...Actually thought I'd be ripping it out and glueing the new transducer down...

As I'm now in the mode of recomissioning the boat for spring, I gave it a second look and like I said the swing arm "Seemed like a good idea", so I spent a whole ten minutes rebuilding it...

Come to find out it's "not" all that uncommon a mounting technique, just old school, low buck and somewhat novel, like the rest of the boat...which seems to trip alot of people up...

I have set my transducer with a plumber's wax ring. My transducer shoots thru the hull. There is no distortion on my screen.No cutting .Actually it was very simple and has worked fine for the past 2 years. Just get a wax ring from H Depot warm it up so it is pliable and set it to the inside of the hull where you want the transducer to be. Next press the transducer into the wax and mission accomplished.

Wax ring is also good to have aboard for plugging the unexpected "hole"...!!
