Well as I work my way thru the list I am now starting to look at the need to replace 35+-year-old hoses that look like wire-reinforced vacuum cleaner hoses. I am wondering what folks used as replacement hoses for the cockpit drains and galley sink. Recommendations?

Drainage hose for cockpit, sink or shower needs to be flexible with strong walls and resistance against kinks and abrasions. It is important that all hoses at thru hull fittings be doubled clamped.

Corrugated hose may be ok for cockpit drains, but I'd use smooth walled sanitation hose for the sink drains. Corrugations will trap grease, oil, food particles, etc in galley sinks...toothpaste, soap scum and whatever else goes down head sinks. Smooth walled hose will be a LOT easier to keep clean and odor free.

That's my $.02 worth anyway...

This is what my sink drains looked like originally. Not only were they cracked, they trapped junk in those loops. I replaced the PVC ell on the thru hull with bronze and connected some left over Saniflex from it to above the waterline where the new plumbing joined. I used PVC from the sinks to the join, All above the waterline. I still need to take pics of the "after" for my records

I just did mine with butyl rubber ($13/ft) sanitation hose and was able to put a Y in instead of the T. I got all my shelving back, easier access to thru hull, and a clear drain path, sink drains well, I never worry about the sink hose anymore. Still inspect though...
