I am new at sailing and just purchased a used 1985 222. The rigging is entirely disassembled, need to put it together and am somewhat lost. Am seeking a copy of the Owners Manual or detailed information on the rigging schema. Any assistance will be greatly appreciated. Miguel

Miguel: go to the Resources tab on this site, choose "downloads", and download the Oday 25 Manual. The rigging diagram should work for your boat too. Let us know if it doesn't for some reason, or if you have more specific questions. The 222 is a fun boat; enjoy!

I have an owner's manual for my 1986 O'Day 222 but your 1985 model may have a mast and boom that was manufactured by a different company than mine. My mast and boom were manufactured by Z Diffusion (Z-Spar) in Bristol RI and the mast has halyards that run inside the mast. My boom has three control ropes inside the boom also. Check your mast and boom and let me know what the make is. I may be able to help you on that. The O'Day company had three or four different spar manufacturers back then. Some of the OD 222s had masts made by Dwyer Mast in CT and the masts had external halyards. What I'm saying is, the rigging on your boat may be different than mine.
