I would like an opinion on what might be the best material to fair a cast iron keel. The keel is off the boat for center board replacement and I would like to smooth it before I reinstall. Thanks for your thoughts.

I used watertite epoxy as per instructions and it was anything
but watertite! I put interprotect 2000 on it after but 1 year later I see weeping. not as bad as before mind you but a crack and weeping Someone at the yard told me you need to apply some 9000?? resin first to make it waterproof??? I'll research some more next year when I tackle it again

POR-15
Try a product called POR-15. You can find it on the net. It will not fair it like epoxy, but this stuff is a great product. Give it a try. Dale
