Oday 28 East Tawas
It seems that there was a post on this web site a couple of weeks ago concerning a secondary bilge on the O'day 28. There was some information about a "weep" hole which was between the bilge under the salon and the bilge under the engine area (I have the OMC saildrive engine, sadly). I probably need to get some antifreeze into this area before winter lay up here in Michigan. My question is: How do I get antifreeze into this bilge? And if I fail to get some into it can it damage the boat when the water which I'm sure is in it freezes?

Not really a bilge

Mike, The area in question is the bottom of the boat in the engine room; not a real bilge. If the weep hole becomes clogged, water from the stuffing box colects just behind the bottom of the engine room access door behind the stairs. If enough water collects there it spills out onto the main salon floor. Just take the engine cover off and check for a puddle right in front of the engine. If you don't have one, you have no problem.
