I need to remove the seaward water heater from a hunter 310. It's a 6 gallon which I think is standard. Question is it appears that only two screws up front are the only secure point. Am I missing something or is there more to removing it. Appreciate any help. Reg

and the top of the setee is all mine has holding it in place. No screws at all - just spacer blocks under it and plumbing attached. Pathetic construction if you ask me!

Removal tips

Reg, I have just installed my third Seaward 6 gallon water heater in 4.5 years. The procedure is pretty straight forward. Be certain that once you remove the heat exchanger hoses that they are kept above the engine. Otherwise, rusty water will flow. And, don't forget to turn off the water heater and water pressure pump switches at the breaker panel. As I recall, my installation had an "L" bracket on the front and back. They were all that held the unit in place. Be mindful that once disconnected, you may have some residual water in the tank. It will want to flow out on to the interior of the boat. There is a faucet on the heater that can have a garden hose attached to empty. However, I found this a problem since the hose had to run up through the companionway and out of the boat. Once completed, you will need to watch the level of your antifreeze over a period of several engine uses. Should only take about a half hour. John Richard s/v Jack's Place
