I have the above model oven/stove combo and I'm trying to light it for the first time. The only instructions I have state that once I pressurize & fill the tank, to open one of the valves on the stove or oven and let the alcohol partially fill the lighting cup. It goes on to say that the alcohol should cover the wick. There are no wicks on my stove and I can't find any reference anywhere to help me find replacements. Any advice? Thanks.

Forget the wick part, it was for

generic stoves. Just get a little alcohol in the cup, light it, let it burn for a bit, then and only then open the valve and it should light.

After the unit is pressurized, open the valve (knob on front) for the burner you want to light and count to three. Shut the valve off and try to light the fuel with a long-nosed burner. If it lights, let it warm up the burner. If not, open the valve again for a three count and try to light again. The trick with the darned thing is NOTto get too much fuel in the cup around the burner. That is when the infamous flare-up occurs. When the fuel in the cup has warmed the burner, turn the valve on again and adjust the flame to the right cooking height.
If you should get too much fuel in the burner tray, it will take a while for it to burn down. Let it do so before you turn on the burner even if it is warm. Otherwise it is hard to control the flame until all the prime is burned off.
good luck...

flare up

and by-the-way that "flare up" can easily reach the curtains above. Until you get things all figured I'd have a FE handy.

The book for my Seaward, 1982 said it had a wick, but there were none when the boat was new, and frankly, I hated it, and use it, almost unused for 27 years as a paper cup and paper plate cabinet.
