Telling mom.

Hehe...heh...<nervous laugh> Mom doesn't know, but the girlfriend does. She was my crew! She was taking photos of the mast and bridge just before going under. I could post the photo if there is some interest! She stopped taking photos when things looked tight. My pucker factor went up to 11.5 for about 30 seconds when I realized it was close. She still loves sailing, so I'll continue to have a crew - Whew! She yells at me all the time when I'm driving a car, but amazed I didn't get chewed out over this. Thinking of taking the ship out again tonight - 80 degrees, north wind and sunny tonight. :) As for the EAST channel bridge I know that I have 71 feet over there. I won't forget that. Still feeling sick.... Tom

The link is too long!!! I have tried that in the

past. I always check my links to see if they work. If they are very long Phil's program won't accept them.

I thought you were in the East channel

Did you go under the bridge on the east half of the west channel? If so, you did get lucky. That would probably not work later in the summer. The COE keeps the lake level a bit lower at this time of year in case of late spring flooding. The other fudge factor that you had working for you is that the clearance is probably listed for the low spot and this bridge does not run level. Take one token out of your bag of luck and transfer it to your bag of experience. Hope you don't run out of luck before you get a bit more in that bag of experience. :)

Oh now I understand 29 feet

I90 bridge coming off west side of Mercer Island. Oh well if you crashed, there are some nice lakefront homes where you could have dried your socks.

Socks

I'd have more to do than dry my socks. I like mom always says "make sure you go out wearing clean underwear" I didn't have any spares. They would have needed changing. Thank goodness for the fudge factor and low water levels. *whew!* Another token put in the experience bag. I'm a flight instructor also, and tell my students about "the bag". My flight bag is pretty full of good stuff, I just have to start filling my sailing bag.
