Chuck et al,

Coming up in about a week is the Seattle Boat Show. I used to look
forward to this every winter when I was living in the PNW and took a
weekend to "do" the show including many of the seminars.

As there are so many "VEGA-tarians" who live in the PNW, you might
also try and schedule an informal gathering at a watering hole or
restaurant close by.

Wish I was out there so i could join you all. I miss the boating and
boat people out there.

Sounds like an interesting idea. Anyone else in the PNW considering
Seattle? It might be an opportunity to meet and plan the summer get
together.
And thanks to Bill Burke for the lead on the delrin sheaves. I spoke
to the individual who manufactures them and he still has a few that
were specifically manufactured for the A30. I plan to order one.
He does group purchases so if enough VEGAtarians wished to place an
order I am sure he would accomodate the group...May be up to you
Peter.

By the way, An old friend of the Association will be there.

Laura ran into John Neal and his wife at work. Seems they live here
on San Juan island and are sponsored by Laura's employer, West Marine.
They'll be giving seminars at the show. Have you seen what he's
doing now? Pretty interesting gig, if you like sailing four bedroom
boats.

John's boat only has three-bedrooms, unless you count the main salon :)

I'm planning on Seattle a couple days - one day I will be helping one of my
students spend his money as he gets ready to sail his 78 footer from Chicago
home to Seattle - wish I had time to do the trip.

I'd love to go but transportation from Friday Harbor seems to be
problematic. I asked around and the only answer so far seems to be
"Take the ferry to Anacortes and drive down" Not an opton for me.

Any suggestions?

Unfortunately it will not work for Diana and I so any decisions you
make we will abide by. Remember that both Jim and Gloria as well as
the young fell in Bellingham (he is putting in a Beta)are planning
holidays around the rendezvous. Mid to second last week of August in
Nanaimo would be great, but we are open to other plans. We realize
that some of you have to travel further but hey...it's once a year
and so fun!

Recieved the sails. Thank you very much. How much was the shipping? Let me know and a good address and I'll get it to you ASAP. Also how do I get into the Vega group repairs. I think you gave me this info once but I have no idea what I did with it. Altleast I can still find the boat! Thanks Andi. PS It will stop me from asking you a couple of million stupid questions.

Chuck: I think you can get a bus from Anacortes ferry into Seattle. Another idea might be to check out West Marine and see if you could post a note to carpool with anyone else is coming down for the boat show. You might even try craigslist and ask to carpool with someone.
