Has anybody changed out their seat locker covers?

Mine are made of some type of compressed board
with a paper/cardboard backing that seems to
absorb moisture. They are becoming friable and
have mold on them. They really look terrible.

I have found a product that I think would be better
and lighter: http://stinger.coroplast.com/
It seems difficult to acquire some though.

There's also StarBoard. I don't know where to
obtain any.

Any help would be appreciated.

Yes I have, they are made of a product called MDO there half-inch Marine plywood covered with a resin base paper is the best way I can explain it. You can do all of them for about 50 bucks but the one that is in the V birth is three-quarter inch material that's another 75 bucks for a 4 x 8 sheet of that. I believe the half-inch sheet cost me around 48 bucks.

It's very easy to do, just lay the pieces on top of the 4 x 8 sheet trace amount with a pencil about a eighth inch bigger. Then use a router with a plunge bit with the bearing on top. Which of you an exact template, with that said you can make them bigger or smaller depending on how they fit in your boat.

Mine were stained with oil diesel whatever I have no idea what was on them but after 36 years they needed to be replaced. It's a very simple project go to your local hardwood supplier or lumber supplier, not Home Depot or Lowe's they will not carry this product. I can take some pictures of mine if you want to see it? But it's pretty much how I have described it here. Should cost around $50 to replace all of the half-inch material that includes the V birth quarter birth and under all the seats.

I can show you the router bit and router that I used if you need more instruction. Basically a straight cutting router bit with a bearing on top with a piece of material below being approximately 1/8 of an inch bigger. Then I ran in easing bit approximately 1/8 of an inch on the top and 1/4 inch on the bottom to make the round edge. You can get these easing at harbor freight for under $20

Good luck and I can be of any further assistance just let me know.

On Cruisers forum someone suggested celtec.
I found a distributor for it. I'll go check it out.
Thanks for responding.
