Top of the page there's a search bar. When you click in there you'll get a drop-down with a link to advanced searches.

There is. Up near the top of the screen on desktop browsers is a search box. On mobile it’s a magnifying glass that expands into a search box when tapped.
Depending on what you’re looking for you can also Google the site specifically by googling for “search terms site:forums.sailboatowners.com” (without quotes)

Use the right terminology. Searching for floor might turn up next to nothing while sole will bring up many hits.
